Miss California: ‘No Regrets’
Carrie Prejean Says Answer to Gay Marriage Question Cost Her Miss USA Crown Miss California is not backing down from the answer regarding gay marriage she gave on Sunday night’s Miss USA telecast. Carrie Prejean told FOXNews.com that she had “no regrets” and was happy with the answer she gave when a Miss USA judge, the gossip blogger Perez Hilton, asked about her stance on same-sex marriage. “I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman,” she said on the live broadcast. “No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.” YOU DECIDE: Did Miss California’s answer cost her the crown? Thousands mark 10th anniversary of Columbine shootings
LITTLETON, Colorado (CNN) — Several thousand people poured into the amphitheater at Robert F. Clement Park Monday for an event memorializing the victims of the Columbine shootings on the 10-year anniversary of that tragic event. Surviving victims, family members and current Columbine High School students as well as members of the community heard prayers, music, speeches and a videotaped message from former President Bill Clinton. It was “a day that changed us forever,” said Clinton, who occupied the White House on April 20, 1999. Clinton said he was inspired by the courage of the Columbine community after the shootings. “Ten years, 20 years. For many of you it will always feel like yesterday,” Clinton said. “The strength and resolve of your small community has been a beacon of hope.” People [...]
Cheney Calls for Release of Memos Showing Results of Interrogation Efforts
Now that the memos showing the rulings of interrogation techniques have been released, the Obama administration should release additional documents that show what the interrogations yielded to make it an “honest debate,” former Vice President Dick Cheney told FOX News on Monday. In an interview with FOX News’ Sean Hannity aired on “Hannity” Monday night, Cheney questioned the point of releasing the legal decisions behind the interrogations but not the outcome of them. “One of the things that I find a little bit disturbing about this recent disclosure is they put out the legal memos, the memos that the CIA got from the Office of Legal Counsel, but they didn’t put out the memos that showed the success of the effort,” Cheney said. Cheney said he’s asked that the documents be declassified because he has [...]
Computer Spies Breach Fighter-Jet Project
WASHINGTON — Computer spies have broken into the Pentagon’s $300 billion Joint Strike Fighter project — the Defense Department’s costliest weapons program ever — according to current and former government officials familiar with the attacks. Similar incidents have also breached the Air Force’s air-traffic-control system in recent months, these people say. In the case of the fighter-jet program, the intruders were able to copy and siphon off several terabytes of data related to design and electronics systems, officials say, potentially making it easier to defend against the craft. The latest intrusions provide new evidence that a battle is heating up between the U.S. and potential adversaries over the data networks that tie the world together. The revelations follow a recent Wall Street Journal report that computers used to control the U.S. [...]
